These 5 Natural Scar Reducing Products Actually Work
If you have a few unsightly scars that perhaps nobody else has noticed but lower your self-esteem, it’s time to use these scar reducing products.
Almost all of us have scars that we’d rather not notice every day. I’ve got a few myself from when I fell off a bike four years ago, and one on the face from a zit I accidentally popped (Okay! it wasn’t an accident), and a burn mark from a drop of boiling water that fell on my forearm when I was just five; and these are just the ones I can see.
But I must mention that while they have faded away, they are still unsightly and even though nobody else can really tell, I know they are still very much there.
So did I do anything to reduce their appearance? Yes, I did.
I tried a few natural scar reducing products and remedies. And while they took some time to show results, it was the best decision I made and am happy to report that my scars are not so unsightly as before.
So if you also happen to have a few unsightly scars that perhaps nobody else has noticed but lower your self-esteem, it’s time to say goodbye to them - naturally.

Raw honey is known for its medicinal properties. Not only is it antibacterial, it is also has therapeutic value, is a natural moisturizer and is available in most kitchens. You can use it in combination with other natural ingredients to get rid of dead skin cells, fade scars, prevent accumulation of dead skin and stimulate skin tissue regeneration.
Processed honey doesn’t have the nutrients of raw honey, so make sure to opt for raw honey if reducing scars is your agenda.
You can massage half a tablespoon of raw honey onto the affected area and cover it with a bandage to keep it overnight. Wash it off in the morning.
Alternatively, you can make a scrub of honey and crystalised sugar. Apply the mixture onto the affected area for five minutes and then wash it off with some cold water. Apply moisturiser once done.
#2 Rosehip seed oil
The rosehip seed oil made from the rose plant is a miracle worker when it comes to reducing the appearance of scars. In fact, it is also a great remedy to banish wrinkles and add glow to the skin.
Although it is essentially a vegetable oil, it is rich in vitamins and fatty acids. And these work together to restore the original skin and reduce hyperpigmentation and scars. You can simply massage it into your skin, especially in the affected area for best results.
Remember that it may take a few weeks so be patient. Our pro tip is to make sure you apply a sunscreen lotion over the rosehip oil whenever you head out because this oil has the tendency to make the skin sensitive to sunlight.
#3 Aloe Vera
You may know that aloe vera works as a natural emollient. This means it remains damaged skin and promotes regeneration of healthier skin. It also soothes inflamed skin and of course, lightens scars.
The good news is that you don’t need to prepare any scrubs or mixtures with aloe vera, you can use it’s natural gel. Simply scrape off the gel inside an aloe vera stem and apply in onto the scar. It may feel sticky and tacky, but that’s just its texture, don’t worry about it.
Let it stay on for about 30 minutes and then wash it off with some cold water.
#4 Coconut oil
This is another fabulous ingredient to fade away scars. The vitamin E in coconut oil—which is an antioxidant—helps fade scars and prevents new ones from forming.
In addition, the capric, lauric, and caprylic acids boost collagen production, heal damaged skin and even reverse free-radical damage to the skin.
You can directly apply coconut oil to the affected area. All you need to do is to simply heat some extra virgin coconut oil. Place the warm oil in your palms and gently massage it into the scarred area. Leave it on for an hour and repeat this exercise two to four times per day for faster results.
Lemon is rich in alpha hydroxy acids that are known to have healing properties and work effectively to reduce scarring as well. It can also remove dead skin cells, repair damaged skin and also improve its elasticity. Also, the bleaching property of lemon can actually lighten the scar.
With so much goodness and the fact that is easily available in all kitchens, lemon is a must-try. You can simply rub a slice of lemon directly onto the scar and leave it on there for 30 minutes before washing it off with water.
Or if your skin is too sensitive, you can add vitamin E oil or rose water to it and then apply it onto the affected area. Do this once everyday til your scar fades away completely.
The good thing about these natural scar reducing products is that they will not harm your skin or add any chemicals to it. In addition to reducing scarring, they will also lend a healthy glow.
