What Meghan Markle Wore Was Nothing Short Of A Royal Disaster

OMG! What was she thinking!

The newly married Duke and Duchess of Sussex have made quite a few headlines with their whirlwind tour across Australia, Tonga, Fiji and New Zealand. While Prince Harry wowed everybody with his friendly royal waves and hugs, what Meghan Markle wore and said was a hit with the fashion critics and fans alike.

Stepping out in the most impeccable outfits one after the other, Markle seems to be hitting a six in each of her public appearances, except on two occasions.

Her first fashion faux pas came just a few days back when the couple arrived in Tonga. The newly-minted Duchess was seen in a Self Portrait red number, and had the price tag sticking out of the hem of her midi dress.

And the second one was yesterday when she stepped out in a sheer royal blue Givenchy skirt that gave everybody a peek of her granny underpants.

The much-in-love parents-to-be stepped out for a walkabout in Rotorua, New Zealand, when the Duchess was caught in an embarrassing wardrobe malfunction. The weather, although gloomy when the couple reached the venue quickly turned sunny, revealing the Duchess' secrets.

It seems that her stylist failed to check the weather or get the Duchess a slip for her Givenchy skirt, creating an embarrassing situation for the glowing mum-to-be.

But as always, Markle powered through, smiled, hugged and won hearts with her grace and poise. In fact, all the fans who were at the venue to greet the Duchess didn't notice the fashion mishap.

And we don't blame Markle either. She has a huge entourage that failed to inform her and even if she knew, she is gorgeous enough to pull off a look with knickers on full show.

But apart from these two major fashion mishaps, Markle seems to have had a seamlessly fashionable tour.

What Meghan Markle Wore During Her First Royal Tour

In a tour of four countries that lasted for 16 days and had 76 engagements, Markle went through 39 outfits. Majority of which were a huge hit with modern millennials and two were major misses. But overall, the Duchess of Sussex came out of her first royal tour with her husband fashionably unscathed.

These are some of our favourite picks from what Meghan Markle wore recently during the last leg of her four country trip.

1. A royal repeater, if you may

Markle attended a reception hosted by the Prime Minister at the Auckland War Memorial Museum. This particular reception included several cultural performances by members of the Pasifika community that live in Auckland.

Markle repeated her Antonio Berardi dress (first worn in May 2017) and paired it with a Dior clutch, Aquazzura heels and Emily Mortimer earrings.

2. The black lady of grace

Along with her powerful speech, Markle also won many hearts with her Gabriel Hearst midi. The Duke and Duchess of Sussex were part of the reception at Government House, before they attended another reception hosted by the Governor General celebrating the 125th anniversary of women’s suffrage movement in New Zealand.

Markle accessorised her dress with a Dior clutch, Stuart Weitzman shoes, Maison Birks earrings and a Jessica McCormack necklace.

3. Some maroon power for the Duchess

It has nothing to do with power, but this dress certainly has something to do with grace and poise with which the Duchess carried it off. Markle wore this Hugo Boss dress on her way to New Zealand.

She accessorised this gorgeous and comfortable number with Aquazzura heels, a Cuyana clutch matching with her heels and Paspaley earrings.

4. A khakhi ranger

On October 27, the Duke and Duchess also attended the Invictus Games' Closing Ceremony at Qudos Bank Arena. Here, Markle wore this smart Antonio Berardi halter dress in khakhi colour.

She accessorised her look with her signature loose bun, Aquazzura heels, Natalie Marie earrings and Pippa Small bracelets.

And finally, the Duchess wowed everybody with this jaw-dropping Oscar De La Renta number. She accessorised this dress with Aquazzura heels and Maison Birks earrings.

This gorgeous Markle wore this outfit when they attended the Australian Geographic Society Awards, an annual gathering of Australia's brightest and best in exploration, science and conservation.
